Leadership
John Seker is the Chief Executive Officer of American Power Ventures and has overall responsibility for the company’s strategic vision, commercial arrangements and equity arrangements. Mr. Seker has over twenty-five years of experience in the power sector as a developer, equity investor and buy-side equity advisor. Mr. Seker has participated in the development and/or financing of approximately 3.3 GW of power plants representing approximately $3.5 billion of investments.

Prior to forming American Power Ventures, Mr. Seker was Vice President of Commercialization and Development for Competitive Power Ventures where he developed natural gas-fired projects and raised equity for the company through partnering arrangements. Mr. Seker also served on community brownfield development area and energy steering committees working closely with community leaders and environmentalists. He has been an active participant in the New Jersey Energy Master Plan proceedings, providing testimony to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities and New Jersey legislature on energy policy matters.

Prior to joining CPV, Mr. Seker was Vice President, Americas for Rolls-Royce Power Ventures for thirteen years where he had overall responsibility for the company’s development, operations and construction activities in North and South America. During his tenure with RRPV, the company developed approximately 500 MW of industrial cogeneration facilities representing roughly $800 million of financing. Throughout his career, Mr. Seker has worked with numerous developers, equity investors and equity advisors in the power sector where he has provided due diligence analysis, economic analysis, raised financing, negotiated power contracts, construction contracts, and numerous other agreements.

Mr. Seker earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University and his Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University.
John Seker

Marc Poulson is the Chief Financial Officer for American Power Ventures, where he oversees the firm’s finance and economic modeling related activities. Mr. Poulson has participated in the successful development and financing of over 2,000 MW of power generation projects in the US and Canada.

Before joining APV, Mr. Poulson was a member of the finance team at Competitive Power Ventures. At Competitive Power Ventures, Mr. Poulson was responsible for the financial structuring and proposal preparation of new development projects, management of existing project capitalization efforts and assistance with the financing of the company’s acquisition-related endeavors.

Mr. Poulson has over twenty years of experience in the energy sector starting with the Enron Corporation. At Enron, Mr. Poulson held roles as an Analyst and Associate in the Principal Investments group where he focused on the screening, evaluation and origination of investments in energy intensive industries.

Mr. Poulson holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Morehouse College.

Doug Anderson
Advisor
Mr. Anderson is Director of Asset Management for American Power Ventures, where he oversees the firm’s asset management strategy and execution activities. Mr. Anderson has over 30 years of experience in the power, energy and infrastructure sectors in asset management, project financing, project operations, business and project development, commercial and technical due diligence, and engineering.

Prior to joining American Power Ventures, Mr. Anderson assisted various private equity firms perform market research, transactional due diligence, and negotiate and close project and corporate financing facilities across the power and other technology sectors. Previously, Mr. Anderson was a Managing Director, Global Asset Management at GE Capital’s Structured Finance Group (GE SFG) where he managed a portfolio of more than 1,000 MW of domestic gas-fired combined cycle facilities, and geothermal power plants representing a total investment of approximately $1.5 billion. Mr. Anderson later managed GE SFG’s international portfolio which included more than 3,000 MW of power plants and other infrastructure projects representing a total investment in excess of $3.0 billion in more than 20 countries. Mr. Anderson’s responsibilities as an asset manager included: monitoring construction progress and budget; approval of progress payments; review of schedule recovery plans; review and approval of change orders; dispute resolution; conversion of construction loans to permanent financing; compliance with contractual (financial and operating) covenants and reporting requirements; review of project financial and operating performance, and the implementation of enhancements to maximize both; contract restructurings; work-outs; and asset disposition. In addition, Mr. Anderson represented GE Capital’s interests as a Director on the Boards of Directors and Investment and Advisory Committees of various companies and funds in which it had an equity investment.

Prior to GE SFG, Mr. Anderson held various positions with Fortistar Capital, Citizens Utilities Company, Catalyst Energy Corporation, Northeast Utilities Company and United Engineers & Constructors.

Mr. Anderson received a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. in Finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Thomas Voss
Advisor
Mr. Voss has spent over 30+ years in the environmental field as an employee of various locally and nationally recognized environmental consulting firms and as an owner of two successful environmental consulting firms. Currently, Mr. Voss is the principal/owner of Viron Consulting Group, LLC and Viron Energy Group, LLC, both located in Basking Ridge, NJ, where he is responsible for the firm’s general management, financing, development, sales and marketing. He also provides technical support for projects involving hydrogeologic investigations, soil and ground water quality assessments, design and implementation of remedial investigations and feasibility studies, and state and federal regulatory compliance.
With the ever increasing stress man places on his environment, Mr. Voss has been a big proponent of green, sustainable designs which greatly lessen man’s impact on the environment. In 2007 and 2009, Mr. Voss received his Green Advantage® environmental certification and his LEED AP certification, respectively, for building-related practitioners who are involved in construction projects adhering to the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system. With these certifications, Mr. Voss has been focusing his energies on sustainability.
In addition, Mr. Voss is a registered professional geologist in several states, including, Alabama, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. Lastly, Mr. Voss is also a licensed Subsurface Evaluator, as defined by the State of New Jersey.
Mr. Voss holds a B.S. Degree (1983) in Geology from Syracuse University and has completed M.S. Graduate Studies in Geology at Wichita State University from 1984-1986
